About Richland Hills
A city in Tarrant County, TX, Richland Hills, had its start under a charter adopted back in 1986. It is known for being at a crossroads between Texas State Highways 183, 121, and 26.
The city was established around World War II, due to the rapid development of defense-related industrial plants that became the norm in the DFW metropolitan area, which led to the rampant population growth that was true throughout the 1940s and 1950s. In 1990, over forty plants produced tools, flour, and products made from rubber and wood.
The area is known for being a city on the Texas Lakes Trail, one of the more important trails that is part of the walking, hiking, and biking trails that crisscross Tarrant County. Five parks exist in the city, their newest park featuring a water feature, The Link Event and Recreation Center, and a pavilion. The area is very inviting for anyone who wants to engage with nature for this reason. There isn’t a shopping mall in town, but North East Mall in nearby Hurst, TX, serves most of the northeastern part of the county.
