All About Scenic Frisco TX
One of the fastest growing communities in the suburbs of Dallas, Frisco Texas had a population of over 200,000 as of the 2020 Census, a 247% growth since 2010. The town is close to both Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Love Field airport, and it’s close enough to Dallas to be considered a bedroom community for the city, where many Frisco residents work in DFW, getting there via the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system or one of the many highways. Despite being so close to an urban area, the town has plenty of trees and greenspace, and it was named Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation in 2003.
Historic Frisco was located along the Preston Trail, a trail for settlers, that today is Preston Road. The town was first named “Frisco City” in honor of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, which came through the town in the early 1900s. To honor this railway heritage, the town is home to the Museum of the American Railroad, located inside the Frisco Heritage Museum. The downtown Frisco Square is a popular place for local festivals including Music in the Square, Arts in the Square, and the annual Christmas celebration. The many sports venues in the area also make it a great palace to visit for fans. No matter what you like, Frisco TX is a great stop on a DFW vacation!
