About Thriving Burleson TX
A city in both Johnson County and Tarrant County, TX, Burleson is a suburb of Fort Worth and part of the DFW metroplex area. It features Fort Worth Spinks Airport on the northern edge of its city limits.
Initially, the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, known as “the Katy,” extended its service from Denison to Waco. Over in 1880, the segment from Fort Worth to Alvarado was being planned, and a midway depot was needed. As a result, Grenville M. Dodge purchased land for the depot and the surrounding town at the site of what is now called “Old Town” Burleson.
